^^ That is exactly what I said to the 4HB after my trip to NYC. Yupp, I only did it for 2 weeks then "gave up"... Well, I don't look at it like that. When you have a bad feeling about something, you know. And I gave this thing 2 weeks. It just wasn't working for me. I felt like shit, I could hardly eat, and I was just not happy. I realized how much I missed Paleo and honestly how much I liked Paleo. I got to trade my beans in for cheese - I love cheese. And I hate beans. I'm not on true Paleo yet though. I am shocking my body for last week and this week with legitimately no carbs then I get a cheat day again. This way I will lose more body fat by starving my body of carbs. It won't work as well as if I had done 4HB for 4 weeks, but 2 weeks will work decently well.
My diet now consists of meat, fish, cheese, vegs (except potatoes), eggs, and nuts. I can have carbs such as a meal replacement bar and rice after my two intense workouts. I still take Alpha-Lipoic Acid and Green Tea Extract before every meal too. After this week and my cheat day, I am not going to be so rigorous and just enjoy the normal Paleo life. I'll be back to slowly adding back one fruit a day to my diet and I can have a cheat meal once a week (any day of the week) instead of a cheat day only on Saturday's. It makes me feel more sane, than pressuring myself to eat as much crap as possible in as little time as possible because once the day is over I can't eat it anymore. I missed out on so much this weekend simply because I am on no carbs for 2 weeks straight: ice cream after my dance recital, cake from my sister's party. Ugh it really does suck sometimes to be as disciplined as I am.
HOWEVER, my best friend Nicole Brown decided to start 4HB in replacement of me. She didn't realize it was in replacement of me (and neither did I for that fact) but it just happened to work out that way. She's doing great and the progress she has made both mentally and physically is fantastic. I can't wait to see how fit she is by the end of her 30-day transformation... Good luck Nikki!
