Hey guys! Sorry for the lag in posts but I've been so busy over here. I had midterms all last week and huge projects due and working out like crazy and oh my gosh just so so much going on. I didn't even get to finish up the Paleo Summit or browse pinterest hardly at all. So my spring break is simply a catching up on sleep and relaxation break. So here I am catching up with my blog! So that being said, there's some new updates on my lifestyle. I have been going hard at paleo and working out (even just upped the intensity of my HIIT workout by making it longer intervals and faster too). I have definitely started to see a difference in my body. It may have taken about 2 months (clearly 2 more months than I would have liked haha) but the changes are finally starting to show. My tummy is slimmer, my thighs are rock hard, my booty is firm, and overall I am just one really happy camper :)
The paleo diet is hard but my trainer switched me over to something that is even harder... which I didn't even think was possible. The other night I had a cup of hot chocolate (mmm it was delicious) but it had me doubled over in pain. So my trainer said alright for the next two weeks we are going to "experiment" and try gluten-free for two straight weeks with absolutely no cheating. SO there you have it: the newest addition to my lifestyle. I'm on the second day and already it's extremely challenging so the next two weeks are going to be complete hell. I've completed day one (yesterday) and last night had dreams about accidentally eating gluten; talk about anxiety! Dinner is the hardest I'd have to say. Breakfast can be eggs and bacon, lunch can be deli meat and cheese, snacks can be nuts and fruit but for dinner there's so many options for gluten-induced foods that I have to avoid especially when going out to dinner. Last night my boyfriend and I went to Applebess for dinner and the amount of stuff I could and couldn't have were unreal. Couldn't have any appetizer I wanted and was very limited to entree as well, however, I could have french fries so that's what I ordered to treat myself :) even on gluten-free and low-carb you can treat yourself.
In addition, I have added in vitamin supplements (Vitamin D3, a multivitamin, and fish oil) and have also switched from protein bars, which I actually really lijed,
to protein shakes/powder. Let me tell you, it is definitely a different
experience. I have a horrible gag reflex and a fear of powdery drinks so
this is certainly the most challenging aspect of my new lifestyle. The last thing will be to attempt a fiber poweder but again the gag reflexes and fear... Ugh.
This makes my journey just that much harder but so much more worth it too. Have a fun and relaxing day, and go out and enjoy this lovely sunshine we are blessed with!! :)
